Haley Brightman
Analyst
Haley supports Surgo’s innovative programs by contributing to research and program design, analysis, and synthesis of lessons learned. She is passionate about helping to uncover insights to inform viable solutions to complex health and development challenges.
Prior to joining Surgo, Haley served as a Senior Program Officer at URC, providing technical support for a USAID-funded tuberculosis project based in Uganda. As part of this work, she led development of knowledge management products and supported operations research studies. Previously she supported the HIV portfolio of another USAID-funded global technical assistance project, which included activities to improve the quality of voluntary medical male circumcision in eastern and southern Africa. Haley has contributed to a variety of qualitative research efforts as well as business development efforts through proposal research and writing. She has also worked on HIV programs in Myanmar and in research and advocacy to combat neglected tropical diseases. Haley holds a Master of Public Health degree in Global Health from the Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University, and a B.A. in English from the University of Delaware.
