Staci Sutermaster
Research Fellow
Staci works on several of Surgo’s programs as a Research Fellow– providing research design, analytic, and implementation support to help Surgo generate innovative, strategic approaches and insights to solve global development challenges. She is passionate about understanding how technology can be best leveraged for health systems strengthening.
Prior to joining Surgo, Staci worked as a graduate research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She supported maternal and child health and nutrition-focused randomized control trials in rural Bangladesh and designed digital tools to improve and track health care accessibility and service coverage with Jhpiego Lesotho and the Institute for International Programs. Staci previously worked within monitoring and evaluation at Lwala Community Alliance, a community-driven organization providing health services in western Kenya. In this role, she developed and implemented data collection tools to guide programmatic improvements.
Staci received a Masters of Science in Public Health in Health Systems from the Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Bioengineering from the Schreyer Honors College at the Pennsylvania State University.
