Tich Mangono
Program Manager

Tich Mangono manages several of Surgo’s programs including the TB and Family Planning portfolios. As the program manager, Tich plays a central role in working across teams and partners to help drive programs to adopt new methods and tools and scale insights to achieve results. Tich is passionate about using machine learning and process automation to solve high-impact development challenges and contributes to several of Surgo’s machine learning initiatives.

Before Surgo, Tich worked for Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), at both country and global levels. He coordinated a multi-million, multi-year regional grant across three teams in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa to reduce new HIV infections through voluntary medical male circumcision. As part of this work, he led the development of national operational plans, programmed evidence-based targets, and advised ministries of health and their stakeholders on sustainable HIV prevention strategies. Prior to joining CHAI, Tich worked for an agricultural investment fund developing financial models and managing smallholder farmer projects in southern Africa. He is also a former management consultant and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Analytics with Georgia Institute of Technology.
