Vincent Huang
Director of Data Science and AI
Dr. Vincent Huang believes the best innovations come from crossing knowledge boundaries and building interdisciplinary bridges. At Surgo, Vincent leads the Foundation’s initiative in exploring and applying data science and machine learning tools in global health programs as well as driving collaborative partnerships in developing Surgo Foundation’s data platforms.
Vincent joined Surgo Foundation from Thomson Reuters, where he oversaw a portfolio of projects using data science tools to identify emerging research areas and advise scientific research strategies for government funding agencies and industry clients. Vincent also served on the review panel for the Research and Development Service of the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and was a Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the Board on Science, Technology, and Economic Policy at the US National Academy of Sciences.
Vincent completed his postdoctoral training at Columbia University Medical Center, where he used machine learning and movement-assisting robots to study motor-skill rehabilitation in post-stroke patients.
